February 17, 2011: Peter Andreasen gives an invited talk on “Proteases and cancer” at the College of Life Sciences, Peking University

January 1, 2011: Daniel Dupont begins work on a 2-year Carlberg postdoc fellowship.

 
2010

 

December 17, 2010: Shan Gao is given a price as “Outstanding Chinese Overseas Scholar in Dental Science”, on The First Global Congress of Chinese Dentists in Xiamen, China.

November 5, 2010: Second annual meeting for the Danish participants in the centre, at Aarhus University.

Andreas Kjær is given a 1,500,000 dkk award for “Global Excellence” by the Capital Region

Benedikte Jacobsen is given an “EliteForsk Rejsestipendium”, 300,000 dkk.

August 30 - September 1, 2010: Mingdong Huang visits Aarhus and Copenhagen to discuss scientific results and writing of manuscripts.

August 24, 2010: Michael Ploug is a plenary speaker at 20th International Congress of The International Society for Fibrinolysis and Proteolysis, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, with a talk entitled “The urokinase receptor: From structure-function relationships to in vivo imaging”.

June 21-23, 2010:
Ten members of the Centre participated in the Danish Cancer Symposium on “Cancer Invasion: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Options”, Copenhagen, Denmark, and presented 3 invited talks and 10 posters.

June 1, 2010: Changyun Fang, Ph.D., from the Dental School of Chansha, China, joins the Finsen Laboratory to work under the supervision of Niels Behrendt.

March 24, 2010: Tina Kousted, previously a Master student in the laboratory of Peter Andreasen, is admitted to the Aarhus Graduate School of Science as a Ph.D. student.

February 13-18, 2010: Several members of Centre participate in the Gordon Research Conference on Plasminogen Activation and Extracellular Proteolysis, Ventura, CA, USA. Centre members present 3 invited talks and 6 posters.

February 9, 2010: The Chinese Embaasador to Danmark, Hangsheng Xie, visits Peter Andreasen’s laboratoriy.

February 6-13, 2010: Jørgen Kjems participated in Danish delegation to research institutions in Hong Kong.

January 1, 2010: Daniel Dupont, who holds a 3-year research fellowship from the Danish Cancer Society, returns from Paris to work at the Department of Molecular Biology, Aarhus University, and becomes an external collaborator of the centre.

January 1, 2010: Peter Andreasen appointed professor at the Department of Molecular Biology, Aarhus University

 

2009
 

November 5, 2009: First annual meeting for the Danish participants in the centre, at Copenhagen Biocentre.

November 1, 2009: Jan K. Jensen is granted a 3-year research fellowship by the Lundbeck Foundation to work at the Department of Molecular Biology, Aarhus University, and becomes an external collaborator of the centre.

October 14-23, 2009: Danish delegation under the centre (Peter Andreasen, Knud J. Jensen, Hans Peter Sørensen, Jan K. Jensen, Zhuo Chen, Masood Hosseini) visits Wuyishan and Fuzhou. At the same time, Jørgen Kjems and Shan Gao visit several research institutions in China. In Wuyishan, Mingdong Huang’s group arranged a “Danish-Chinese Seminar on Proteases and Cancer”.

October 1, 2009: Berit Paaske Jensen begins work as a Ph.D.-student within the centre at the Department of Chemistry, Aarhus University.

August 1, 2009: Renée Roodbeen begins work as a Ph.D. student within the Centre, on a grant from the Lundbeck Foundation, in the laboratory of Knud J. Jensen, Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

June 1, 2009:Zhuo Liu begins work as a Ph.D.-student at the Department of Molecular Biology, Aarhus University, in the group of Peter Andreasen.

May 29, 2009: Opening seminar and reception at the University of Aarhus. For details about the programme, see elsewhere. There were around 75 participants. 

May 28, 2009: Scientific seminar at the Finsen Laboratory to celebrate the opening of the centre. See elsewhere for the programme. There were around 50 participants.

May 6, 2009: Peter Andreasen gives lecture on Ph.D. course in Translational Medicine at the Medical Faculty, Aarhus University, entitled “Protein interactions:  determination of binding characteristics by surface plasmon resonance”.  

May 1, 2009: Zhuo Chen begins work as a researcher at the Department of Molecular Biology, Aarhus University, in the group of Ernst-Martin Füchtbauers.  

April 1-2, 2009: Andreas Kjær visits Shanghai Hospital, Shanghai, and gives a talk entitled “Molecular imaging with PET for tailored cancer therapy”.

March 31-April 4, 2009: Mingdong Huang, Michael Ploug, Niels Behrendt, Peter Andreasen, Henrik Gårdsvoll, Morten Persson, and several colleagues and students from Copenhagen and Aarhus participated in the XIIth International Workshop on Molecular and Cellular Biology of Plasminogen Activation in Cold Spring Harbour. Totally, members of the centre and their students presented 6 talks and 5 posters. Three of those were with joint Chinese and Danish authorship.

March 13, 2009: Peter Andreasen gives a talk entitled “Proteases in cancer, mechanisms and clinical implications” in a symposium on “Molecular oncology” at the inauguration of Department of Molecular Medicine at Skejby Sygehus.

March 1, 2009: Hans Peter Sørensen begins work within the centre, in Aarhus, and Maria C. Melander begins work within the centre, at the Finsen Laboratory.

February 7–16, 2009: Danish delegation under the centre (Peter Andreasen, Michael Ploug, Niels Behrendt, Niels Christian Nielsen, Ernst-Martin Füchtbauer, Henrik Gårdvoll, Shan Gao) visits Fuzhou, Wuhan, Tianjin, and Beijing.

January 1, 2009: Shan Gao, Lu Sang, Morten Persson, and Henrik Gårdsvoll begins work within the centre, at Department of Molecular Biology, Aarhus University; Centre for Molecular Imaging, Copenhagen. University Hospital, and Finsen Laboratory, respectively.
